C. Michael Arnold grew up in Parkville, Missouri, and moved to Oregon in 1998 for law school.  He and his wife, Jacy Arnold, chose Eugene, Oregon, due to its proximity to the natural beauty that the state of Oregon has to offer.  While at the University of Oregon School of Law, Michael and Jacy became avid hikers and backpackers. They spent a lot of time backpacking the wilderness area northeast of Sweet Home, Oregon.  They particular enjoyed trout fishing on Oregon’s Donaca Lake after a long old-growth forest hike, after traversing creeks and the river swollen from spring snowmelt.  They also enjoyed spending time up Oregon’s Highway 242, backpacking up to Linton Lake, through the lava fields, to pan fry some fresh-caught lake trout.

However, as time progressed, Michael Arnold replaced backpacking in the basic necessities with whitewater rafting, which allows luxury meals to accompany wilderness dining.  Eugene attorney Michael Arnold enjoys rafting because it allows you to get deep into Oregon and Pacific Northwest wilderness areas quickly and with lots of supplies.  Being located in Eugene, Oregon, Michael Arnold can use this central location as a jump-off point to access their favorite Oregon rivers, such as North Fork of the Middle Fork Willamette River’s gorge as well as heading south to the Rogue.  Michael Arnold also enjoys going over the Oregon border with California to the Smith River Watershed, just across from the Oregon Illinois River watershed.

  1. Traveling to different courts in different counties has been a lot of fun lately. Last week we traveled to Klamath County for a civil case and stopped by the lava tube caves for some spelunking.

A couple weeks before that, I had a jury trial in Medford, so my family spent a long weekend at Emmigrant Lake outside of Ashland. That was a great way to celebrate a winning verdict.

  2. Mike is a qualified class IV-V rafter, having also rafted in Costa Rica, California, and Oregon. There is probably a picture somewhere of him transcending down a 30 foot waterfall in a raft that made it into one of the rafting magazines. I am happy with “splash and giggle” rapids and a good pair of binoculars to watch the osprey and eagles.
